YORKS CAFE

YORKS CAFE

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Jess (marketing) and Harry (roaster) at the end of July 2024. They have a few sites: one in Stratford-Upon-Avon and 2 in Birmingham (which I’m told, legally, we’re not supposed to refer to as the home of metal…). We visited the Stephenson Street location, just around the corner from Birmingham New Street Train Station!

So, what’s it like? Well, close your eyes and imagine how you would want your coffee shop to look like… Exposed brick… Buffed concrete floors… Rustic wood… Metalwork… Green florals rounding the vibe out… Yep, all of it. It’s a real swag joint!

We were warmly greeted and given the rundown of their current lineup and a nice chit-chat about where they get their green from, how they pick their coffees and how, interestingly, the Stratford-Upon-Avon location has people buying all the bags of coffee… Let the sky rain coffee! Ahem.. Excuse the bad Shakespeare joke.

We did a cupping of all of the coffee and as is often the case, it was super hard to pick what might work for us. They were all super good in their own ways and finally, we landed on an absolute banger for the fancy category.

Yorks Cafe have been roasting since 2016 and these guys have absolutely nailed the artwork for their coffees getting their influence from Metal 🤘
