Our journey with Liquid Spirit has been slightly different from our norm. Between the holiday season, work schedules and crisis resolution, I ended up having a phone call with Monika, after weeks of DMs, to get us up and running.
But the end result is the same, we have some awesome coffee for you to enjoy. Monika is, in fact, a botanist who fell in love with the coffee plant. Like a lot of us, she fell into the rabbit hole - studying the plant extensively with a focus on quality control, research and development.
Her partner by contrast is an engineer, who designed and built their first sample roaster from their garage! Peter is also a skilled coffee roaster (try the coffee for yourself, you’ll soon see!). Their operation has continued to grow however and their Coffed SR15 15kg roaster sits at the heart of their operation.
This humble micro-roastery is one that is driven by passion, a passion for bettering themselves by crafting the very best quality product that they can, but also for creating a sustainable operation focused on exploring and developing perfectly roasted, high-quality beans. They have spent years now, building relationships with their suppliers which has enabled them to buy a lot of their green coffee directly from the farmers at source, specifically from both Brazil and Peru. But that is not the end, their sights are set on expanding this range, being able to buy directly from more farms, helping support the farmers and also bringing you a truly ethical, sustainable cup of coffee.
