UNCOMMON GROUND COFFEE ROASTERY

UNCOMMON GROUND COFFEE ROASTERY

Uncommon Ground are a proud, independent, family business, out of Cardiff. Founded by Ian and Paul Hayman, two local brothers back in 2015.

The business has the brew bar in Royal Arcade, in the centre of Cardiff, where I gather it’s not a rarity to find either of the brothers still slinging shots on the bar. There is also a dedicated roasting facility, over by the river Taff, just out of the city centre.

Here is where the magic happens, where they, with the help of their Giesen roaster, impart their passion and dedication into the beans. The beans themselves are sourced partly through Falcon Coffees and partly through direct trade. But through either route of acquisition, care and attention is taken to make sure we’re all getting the best coffee possible.

We spoke with Matt, their wholesale manager who was keen to put another welsh coffee roasters on our board. He sent us some incredible samples to cup - it was pretty clear there was going to be a space in the next line up for an Uncommon Ground offering. There definitely wasn’t a bad offering on the table, but we landed on a natural Honduras that is going to blow your mind!

We’re super glad we found them and we‘re sure you’ll feel the same way too once you’ve brewed that first cup!
