TAMBIA COFFEE

TAMBIA COFFEE

Tambia are a super interesting company who have a fairly unique offering in the UK market for speciality coffee. We caught up with Natalia Garcia back in mid-July so she could tell us all about it.

Tambia’s coffee belongs to them, from start to finish. Tambia are the UK part of Cafe Oro Molido, a third-generation coffee producer in Antioquia, Colombia. There, they plant, farm, harvest and process their own coffee, across three beautiful farms, Finca La Sierra, Vista De Nieve and Campo Amor. It’s then sent over to the UK, to be roasted and sold  to us lovely consumers under the Tambia brand name. So the coffee really is owned by the family, from seed to cup, which personally I think is an incredible story.

It’s not very often a coffee farmer has full control of their green coffee, all the way from the beginning, right up to its final sale. Which also makes both us and you, incredibly lucky, as they don’t do wholesale. This is a great experience for you to get your mitts on what is, I think, outstanding Colombian coffee.

The revenue that is generated by their sales does some good for the world too, not only are they rainforest alliance certified, but their packaging is compostable and carbon neutral. But wait, there’s more! Money generated goes back into supporting the Oro Molido Fundacion, the Oro Molido foundation, where they educated children through their foundation and musical program, they even built the first library in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, which will help the education of indigenous peoples. They’re even building a school right now!
