Having started out in Leeds, they have now moved, home and business, back to Mark’s home county of Cumbria, where they are set up in Whitehaven - a coastal location far removed from the hustle and bustle of Leeds!
Mark clearly has a keen interest in sourcing and roasting interesting coffee, from all over the world. Whilst he has ties to Kenya of course, he has also built some links in India with South India Coffee Co, who, much like Lot 20 from whom they import their Kenyan coffee, give back to the coffee community by giving farmers extra money and training to really level up their produce.
In fact, they’ve been lucky enough to have Sidney, the founder of Lot 20 Coffee with them in the roastery this month for their Kenya day tasting event.
As well as ethically sourcing coffee, they are very much trying to make sure the rest of their business falls in line with this ethos. Using recyclable materials, giving back to and supporting their local community.
