Dave from Danelaw is an OG. He’s been around the block a few times and I mean that in the most positive way possible. He’s approaching 2 decades in the coffee industry and he’s done all sorts from using coffee as part of a mixology competition (which he won) to being a judge in competitions and he was even a part of Caffeine Mag (RIP… Sad face).
Dave’s been roasting coffee since 2015 and it’s crazy to think that Danelaw is “only” going since 2022. Maybe the experience gained before stepping out on your own was worth it because boy, does Dave know how to pick them and how to roast them. The coffees we have sampled have been so, so good. Dave actually specialises in blends, something he has excelled in since his mixology days.
Danelaw started, humbly, on an Alio Bullet (definitely a common trend we see), got himself an industrial unit, he’s upgraded to an electric Geisen (which has broken down) yet on he marched. Along with the ups and downs of having your own business, in 2023 Dave was diagnosed with high blood pressure which, devastatingly, resulted in the necessity to cut back on caffeine. Devastating is probably an understatement. After being unimpressed with the decaf on the market, he got ahold of some samples and went to town picking and blending some of the best decaf coffee we have ever tried and so Danelaw’s sister brand was born; Nott Coffee - we are proud to be featuring both of them this drop!
As he’s recently declared Danelaw (and Nott Coffee) to be his full-time and only jobs - we are all wishing Dave, Danelaw and Nott Coffee the absolute best of luck for the future!
